On The Day (Race Info)

Race Venue & Race HQ: Danesfield School, Medmenham, Marlow, SL7 2EW

Start Time: The 10k race starts at 1000 and the Children’s race shortly after

Car parking: Allocated race parking is at SAS, Marlow, SL7 2EB across the road from the school. Parking is not available at the school. Please follow signs to race car park. Allow 5-10 mins to walk from the car park to Race HQ

Baggage: There is a secure baggage drop next to Race HQ.  Baggage should be clearly marked with your race number and be prepared to show your race number in order to retrieve your bag afterwards

Race Number: Please pick up your number on the day from Race HQ (please leave yourself enough time to do this comfortably!).  Secure your race number to the FRONT of your running top using four pins.  If you have a medical condition that will need consideration, please mark the front of your number with a cross and write details on the back.  If you have been unwell in the days before the race, please do not start.  Please check with your doctor if you are unsure.  Race numbers must not be passed on to another runner

Pre-registered Children should collect their race numbers from Race HQ along with the 10k runners. Entries will be accepted on the day – please go to the Children’s Registration Desk at Race HQ for this. We will require the signature of parent/ guardian. Please remember that your children remain your responsibility at all times and should not be left unattended either before or after the race. All children will run together regardless of age.

The route: The race takes you along a mixture of road, trails and off-road footpaths (which depending on the weather can be muddy)

Marshals:  Stationed along the route at strategic points – please comply with instructions given by the marshals

Distance Markers: The route is marked with km markers

Toilets: There are toilets near Race HQ

Water: There is a water station approximately halfway and you will also be given water at the finish. Please dispose of your cups in the bins provided after the water station. If you need water before the race, please bring your own supply

First Aid: Medical services are provided en route; if you feel unable to complete the course, please wait with a marshal until you can be picked up

Refreshments: Refreshments are available at the school (Race HQ)cakes

Entries on the day: Entries on the day close at 0930. Please go to Race HQ in plenty of time

Prizes: The presentation takes place at approx. 1130.  Prizes given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female (regardless of age) then 1st Male & Female in the following categories: V40, V50 and V60 and Children 1st, 2nd, 3rd (regardless of age)

Finishers Medals: Each finisher (including the children) receive a medal commemorating the event

Spectators: Very spectator friendly, with refreshments available

Results: Results published on the Danesfield Dash website.  Please be patient as this sometimes takes a little time, although we would hope to have them available within 24 hours

Cancellation: Please note that in the event that the race has to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or any other situation outside our control, we will not be able to give competitors a refund.  In the event of extreme weather prior to the race, runners should refer to the Danesfield Dash website
